Tea point

Space description

The Tea Point is a small area for staff and/or visitors to access basic refreshments amenities.  Tea points are typically suited to smaller office areas (approx. 30 persons or less), or serve as adjunct spaces in larger offices where a Tea/Lunch Room or Communal Staff Space is some distance away.


This space is to be located within office areas and may be located to the side of main access pathways.

Site factors -
Room and Spaces Planning Requirements - To suit office layout minimum 1.8m wide.
- Space to the side of general corridor.
Design occupancy - As per office layout
Area typically 4 to 10m2
Other - One tea point per floor or department over 500m2.
- Located as extension of common walkway

Fixed Furniture

Kitchen & Tea Room Equipment Pending size of kitchen / tea point, typically allow for:
- Microwave oven/s
- Fridge/s
- Benching surface and cupboard storage
- GPO's to benching for coffee machine, kettle, sandwich press (users to provide small appliances)
- Sink with appointements per 'Sanitary Fixtures'
- Space allocated and GPO's for vending machine/s where appropriate.
- Provide waste bins to suit size of kitchen/tea point.
